Our Vision

The Muslim College Vision

The Muslim College is unique in its approach and views the entire Muslim heritage as a common treasure, therefore we encourage mutual respect and understanding between the various Muslim communities. As well as an understanding and respect for other faith communities. We have employed both Western and traditional scholarship, classical and modern in the medium of English.

We do not favour or subscribe to any denomination of Islam. We allow for equality of the genders, whereby men and women are taught together and encouraged to fully participate in lectures. We also invite, people of all or no faiths to study at our institution. The Muslim college envisages to provide continued excellence in Islamic academia and thus we regularly review and develop our programmes. Our underlying ethos at the College is to imbibe a progressive approach to religion in our students.

Students at The Muslim College are expected to develop a critical approach to tradition and contemporary issues of religion, by combining theoretical, vocational and practical experiences in their evaluation of a religiously plural society. Students are encouraged to develop an appreciation of the challenges that modern life poses to religion in general and Islam and to study in depth the impact that the interaction between Islam and modernity leaves on the pattern of culture, belief and social behaviour.

Our main objectives are:

  • To provide a comprehensive Islamic education to all who wish to learn about Islam without prejudice
  • To provide platforms for other faith communities, NGOs, charities, organisations to convey the spirit of multiculturalism and inter faith dialogue that is befitting to Islamic belief.
  • To ease tensions within communities by offering advice, services and pastoral care, by providing students with the opportunity and platform to examine and explore faiths in the West.
